Chief Administrative Officer
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chief Administration Officer (CAO) of Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center, Inc.
will provide, guidance, leadership, innovation and creativity in putting in place best practices that will permit the seamless expansion of high quality services and offerings.
The Chief Administrative Officer will provide clinic support, develop policy, implement programming, recruit qualified staff, and assess trends and administrative needs and efficiencies of the Tuolumne Me-Wuk tribal members and community it serves in the delivery of services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES: (will include, but not be limited to):
The CAO in conjunction with the governing Board of Directors the CMO and CFO will drive the strategic planning process to identify growth of existing services as well as development of new services.
She/he will be an initiator in establishing protocols, methodologies, systems, and processes in meeting current and future desired outcomes within each of the administrative disciplines, e.g., Marketing, MIS, HR, et al.

This position, working in conjunction and collaboratively with the governing Board of Directors, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Compliance, is accountable for the development and implementation of best practices policies, procedures, initiatives, and internal controls working to the highest moral and ethical standards, with transparency, in compliance to all applicable laws, regulations, sound business practices and standards in meeting fiduciary obligations.
The CAO will articulate and communicate key benchmarks, milestones, and achievements both internally and externally in support of staff and services being offered while building a network of professional relationships with the local community leaders, regulatory agencies, and other key influencers within the Tribe and the communities being served.
A Masters degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., MBA, MPA, JD, or related).
Ten years prior experience in Healthcare/Clinic related management/administration required.
Prior experience in Native American healthcare highly preferred.
Prior management of multi-Clinic related experience highly preferred.
A work history demonstrating progressive growth and free from misconduct.
Dedication to best practices, quality assurance, quality improvements and risk management.
Excellent and effective communication skills to staff, Native and outside communities.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must possess sufficient written and verbal communication skills to be able to interact with medical professionals, vendors, and agencies in a professional manner, developing rapport and enhancing business relationships.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and tact.
Must have a general knowledge of and the ability to maintain HIPAA privacy requirements.
Must sign a confidentiality statement.
Must have a valid, current California Drivers LicenseMust have a clean driving record.
Must be insurable and eligible for coverage under TMWIHC policies.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Provide authorization to verify the last three (3) employers, reason for leaving, and performance reviews.
