The Mental Health Clinical Coordinator serves as a member of the La Cheim Education Administration Team. Under the direction of the site Education Director, the Clinical Coordinator provides direct care (i.e Individual, family, group therapy; case management), and also supports with oversight of community partners, the program coordinator, supports with coordinating clinician schedules, facilitating meetings, mentoring new clinicians, monitoring workflow, and designing new interventions/ services for youth. The Clinical Coordinator works as part multi-disciplinary team ensuring high-quality, culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and trauma informed care for youth receiving school based services form La Cheim.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supports in coordinating La Cheim’s School Based Mental Health Program;

Functions as a liaison between community partners and Education Director;

Oversee community based mental health clinician schedules, supports workflow, and provides guidance on service best practices (i.e. documentation, training standards, agency protocols);

Help inform clinical proactive aligned La Cheim’s vision and mission;

Partners with Education Director in program design, implementation, and monitoring;

Maintain regular contact with families, districts, and community partners; and

Participate in Utilization Review meetings monthly as required, and other partner meetings as indicated;

Ensure that necessary county eligibility is confirmed and /or secured promptly;

Support/ and participate in Program Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts.

ESSENTIAL CLINICAL FUNCTIONS/THERAPIST DUTIES

Provide weekly individual, family, and or group therapy to students, and families

Maintain appropriate clinical records, complete all required treatment forms as indicated (i.e. assessment, treatment plans, discharge

Manage clinician schedules

Support in generating and filing program forms/documentation and training material

Support in training and provide technical assistance/mentor-ship to clinicians

work collaboratively with classroom teams;

Provide case management for assigned students;

Participate in transition plans/discharge planning;

Monitor effects of psychotropic medications under the direction of the clinical staff;

Provide consultation to classroom staff, assist in establishing behavior expectations;

Assist with crisis intervention guided by professional practice.

ADDITIONAl RESPONSIBILITIES

With Program Director, supervise and evaluate clinical and line staff;

Attend team and staff meetings and training as scheduled; (If licensed-eligible ) participate in weekly supervision as required;

Attend IEP meetings as scheduled;

Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team;

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Licensed or Licensed-Eligible

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling

Three years’ experience working with youth

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, and obtain DOJ, FBI, and TB clearance.
